The Mathieu Van der Poel Signature Series Sutro™ Lite Sweep from Oakley® pays homage to the the talented Dutch rider with his initials “MVDP” displayed on the bridge of the nose, along with three stripes on the temples representing the three different disciplines he competes in. Each pair of glasses comes with a customised case that is signed by the Alpecin-Deceuninck rider who wore them. The glasses were worn during Stage 9 of the Tour de France 2023 as part of the emotional ‘Merci Poupou’ tribute in honour of Van der Poel’s grandfather and cycling great, Raymond Poulidor.

The Merci Poupou Fund

With our initiative, we want to make a considerable contribution to various charities and organizations, aimed to help children, adolescents and persons with disabilities from different backgrounds and living conditions to practice sports, experience movement and develop joy in being active.In 2021, we awarded 5 institutions, associations or non-profit organizations that enable children, adolescents and persons with disabilities to engage in movement, a grant of 10.000 euros each. In addition, The Merci Poupou fund will strive to build a long-term and sustainable relationship with all these initiatives to be a supportive partner over the next years.
