The tenacious Spanish forward was a force to be reckoned with during the 2016/2017 season, finishing the campaign as Chelsea’s top goal scorer as The Blues won The Premier League. Costa’s shirt landed in the possession of Jelle Vossen, a former teammate of Thibaut Courtois who was personally given the shirt by the striker.
This shirt was a part of Chelsea’s FA Cup run to the Final and although it is highly likely to have been match worn as we have communicated with the player with whom it was swapped, we cannot guarantee this.
This shirt has been donated to raise money for Stop Darmkanker, a charity that focuses its resources on curing colon cancer. The auction is part of ‘de Ruiltocht’, a feature in which Belgium TV presenter Evert Winkelmans visits ex-football players to swap shirts.
