Oh la la la, c’est magnifique! The heartwarming story of Arno and KV Oostende
Koninklijke Voetbalclub Oostende is a football club from the Belgian town of Ostend, home to 70k inhabitants and one of Belgium’s most famous rockstars: Arno Hintjens. The lyrics of his song “Oh la la la, c’est magnifique”, written for his former band TC Matic, blast through the speakers of the Diaz Arena every time KVO scores a home goal.
Now, the club has organised a very special fundraising event in his honour.
Arno was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2019, and is still battling with the disease today at the age of 72. Inspired by his strength, KV Oostende has decided to take action in order to help all those who like him are facing this challenge.
On the occasion of last week’s home game vs title contenders Club Brugge, the club has issued some unique shirts, proudly sporting the anthem lyrics “Oh la la la, c’est magnifique” on the chest. Now, they have been signed and they are under the hammer on MatchWornShirt to raise funds for Kom op tegen Kanker, a Belgian non-profit organisation that dreams of a world without cancer.
