Der Fußball vermittelt nicht nur auf dem Platz grundlegende gemeinschaftliche Werte, sondern wirkt auch abseits davon in die Gesellschaft. Soziales Engagement ist den deutschen Nationalspielern, die sich seit vielen Jahren langfristig und nachhaltig einbringen, ein großes persönliches Anliegen. Im Jahr 2020 wurde die Stiftung der Nationalmannschaft als Treuhandstiftung unter dem Dach der DFB-Stiftung Egidius Braun gegründet, um Maßnahmen zu bündeln und Veränderungen anzustoßen.
Menschen haben Rechte, und das überall auf der Welt. Diese Menschenrechte sind nicht verhandelbar, sondern zu achten und schützen - und genau dazu will die Stiftung einen kleinen Beitrag leisten. Im Team kam während der Länderspiele im März 2020 der Wunsch auf, auf Missstände und gleichzeitig das Engagement der Mannschaft aufmerksam zu machen. Die Wohnungslosenhilfe wurde dabei eines der Herzensprojekte. Die Stiftung engagiert sich zudem unter anderem in den Bereichen Gesundheit, Umwelt, Förderung des Sports und der Förderung des bürgerschaftlichen Engagements

In 2020, the National Team Foundation was established as a trust foundation under the umbrella of the DFB Foundation Egidius Braun to bundle measures and initiate change.
People have rights, and they have them all over the world. These human rights are not negotiable, but must be respected and protected - and that is precisely what the foundation wants to make a small contribution to. During the international matches in March 2020, the team felt the need to draw attention to grievances and, at the same time, to the team’s commitment. Helping the homeless became one of the projects close to their hearts. The foundation is also involved in the areas of health, the environment, the promotion of sport and the promotion of civic engagement, among others.
