This jersey was worn during the 20th stage of the Tour de France, the second of two days in the high Alps, featuring a rapid series of ascents and descents, totaling 4,600 meters of elevation gain. Rodriguez, who started the day sixth overall, found himself distanced near the foot of the final climb, with still some 13 kilometres left to ascend. Aided by Jonathan Castroviejo, and latterly Laurens De Plus, Carlos dug deep to make his way up the mountain, eventually finishing 15th on the stage, 3'26" back on stage winner Pogacar.
