The answer is simple: We partner directly and exclusively with over 300 football clubs to put match-worn and signed shirts in the hands of fans via our online auction platform.
We work closely with kit managers, who collect the shirts in the dressing room after the game, make sure they're signed by the players, and send them to our offices for final authentication. Then we deliver these pieces of club history to fans and collectors worldwide!
How we deliver match-worn & signed shirts from the pitch straight to your door.
Auctions generally go live from kick-off. The kit managers collect the shirts from the players immediately after the game, oversee the signing, and ship them to one of our offices.
We’re rigorous in our authentication process. Once the shirts arrive with us, the team does a final check to ensure that all shirts are genuine and correctly listed on our platform.
Using Fabricks’ groundbreaking technology, we create a digital certificate of authenticity for each shirt. The certificate verifies the shirt’s identity, providing access to a wealth of information about it, including details about the athlete and the event.
Before the auction closes, the digital mock-ups uploaded at kick-off are replaced with high-definition images of the match-worn shirts, so you can see the all-important signatures and other unique details.
If you're the highest bidder when the auction finishes, the shirt is yours!
We carefully prepare your shirt and it's shipped within 1-2 business days. Once it arrives, a unique piece of football history is in your hands.
"We understand just how important it is for our fans when bidding for their favourite players' shirts to be able to trust that the product they receive is genuine. We take care to ensure that the shirts we supply to our partner MatchWornShirt are exactly as they are described. We physically collect the shirts directly from the players, separate them from all other stock, have them hand signed, and then supply them directly to MatchWornShirt."
"I personally handle the collection and preparation of match-worn shirts to ensure their authenticity. During games, I am in the locker room at halftime to collect the shirts from the first half. In 90% of cases, this process goes smoothly. However, sometimes I almost have to take the shirt off the player myself to ensure they change at halftime. After the break, I gather all the shirts that need to be signed and ... I then take the necessary steps to make the signing process as efficient as possible before they are swiftly sent to MatchWornShirt."
A match-worn shirt is a shirt that was worn by a player during the game. Unless otherwise indicated in the description, these shirts are offered unwashed.
A match-issued shirt refers to either a shirt prepared for a substitute who did not play or to a shirt prepared for a footballer who played but did not wear the shirt. The shirts may or may not have traces of use, as some players use them for warm-up sessions as well. Many footballers wear multiple shirts during a match.
Match-prepared shirts are prepared, but not for a specific match. They could be shirts prepared for a player that ended up not being part of the matchday squad.
A digital mock-up is a digital representation of a match shirt that allows you to see what it will look like from the moment the match kicks off and the auction starts. Once the shirt arrives at our office, we take high-definition photos to replace the digital mock-ups, highlighting the all-important signatures and other unique details.
If a bid has been placed on a product in the final three minutes before the auction’s closing time, the time remaining will reset to three minutes. This ensures equal opportunities for all fans and tackles ‘bid sniping’ in the final moments of the auction. There is no limit to the number of times an auction can be extended.
